Ladies weekend was undoubtedly a success. For all the ladies that were unable to make it, we hope to see you next year! Our Event and New Member chair put together an incredible weekend that will be remembered for years to come.
Our weekend started on Saturday morning with a Zumba class held at our campus' new recreation center. Though our Zumba experience could be simply described as "amateur hour," all ladies in attendance walked out with a smile...and did I see a little sweat? Afterward, we all went our different ways to take advantage of our mother's visit (hello Coralville mall) or enjoy some Ped Mall/Downtown Iowa City action. I can safely say that Kappa took over Iowa City.
Later that evening we headed over to Atlas and were greeted with a plethora of incredible baskets donated by some of the ladies, which triggered sheer excitement and energy. We organized a silent auction and the results were outstanding. With the right amount of bidding and overall anticipation, we managed to raise over $2,000! This money will be used to buy clickers for easy voting during Recruitment and the rest will go to our philanthropy, Children's Miracle Network.
For all the ladies that were unable to view the slide show at Atlas, we apologize for the technical difficulty. However, if you are interested in purchasing a copy, please let your daughter know and we can make proper arrangements.
Again, I would like to thank all the ladies that were in attendance. We never could have done it with out you.

How do I subscribe?
I have gotten several e-mails asking how to subscribe to the blog.
Unfortunately, Blogger has not made it that easy for non-GMail users.
IF you are lucky enough to have a GMail account, you can simply click the "Follow" header of the blog. A prompt will ask you if you would like to start following publicly or privately under your GMail account name.
Some email hosting clients allow their users to subscribe to several feeds via Atom or RSS. Blog Feeds are a method in which viewers can view the blog and its updated content without actually visiting the blog. I am still working out kinks for several e-mail programs, but if you have any questions or are simply interested in subscribing, please let me know!

Kappa Krush
I think the ladies already know that Kappa Krush was a huge success.
Our Event Chair organized one of the best Kappa Krushes in history. With great pizza, music and dancing, the date party was nothing short of a success. As one of her first duties as Event Chair, I would undoubtedly give her a huge pat on the back.
This year's K Krush was hosted at The Summit restaurant in Iowa City. Every girl was dressed to the nines. Below are a few pictures of our ladies from the event!

Welcome to Kappa
Hello to all the lovely Kappas and Kappa parents.
As the new Public Relations Chairman, I have created this blog to narrow the gap between the parents of Kappa daughters, active Kappas and Kappa as a whole. Parents, I'm sure you hear about the $50 your daughter needs for a new dress for Kappa Krush (February 12, by the way) or the monotonous U-Bill payments popping up every month for the next four years--believe me, 105 of us are all in the same boat.
But, Kappa is more than a monthly payment or a house for your daughter to live in, it is one of the largest woman's organizations in the country with one of the most substantial alumni organizations in the nation. Much to your delight, Kappa provides more than an above average social life (by creating lifelong relationships with other members of the Greek community, of course). With many volunteer and scholarship opportunities, there is no reason Kappa can't be a great tool for the rest of your daughter's life.
I will be updating this blog weekly and giving you the lowdown on the latest Kappa haps. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail iowakkg.pr@gmail.com. I will be happy to answer your question or direct you to the right officer.
